It supposed to be in swf format, but blogspot don't support it, and everything I've tried failed, I just post a screencap of it. Forgive me. Will put the original .swf format once I find it's way :)

One of my simple Flash animation work during my time in Lumine Studio, it was a Greeting eCard for 2010 Xmas to our clients.

The concept was simple, I want to bring the joy and warmth of Xmas (even though I'm not a Christian, but I understand the concept, so.. yeah) with a touch of cute and fun animation.

A little help from fellow workmates with the bell animation and the fallen snow coding. :D

The Emperor and His Empress

The Emperor was a product of my frustration while waiting the bus to go home one day. I just wanted to draw a fierce looking male, but it went on and on and on. And thus... somehow, The Emperor was born.

His Empress born when I was bored during work, and need some distraction. Both of them abusing my pen it almost dried out! :|

Anyway..
So, I've been practicing manual sketching, and experimenting with some style.. and somehow, I think I've finally found one that I could proudly call my own. Though it won't stop me to continue practicing and developing and taste another style.
^^

Edit and put them together in Photoshop CS3.
At first I wanted to color them or to put them in interesting layout. However, I think the simplest one is (if it's not always) the best.

But, really.. nothing beats manual drawing for me.
The emotion, man! The emotion! XDD

Jane Austen : Pride and Prejudice

When Bukune asked me to design a cover for this all-time favorite classic, I was thrilled! Really. One of the cause is while I'm a big fan of it's 2008 movie (one which Keira played), I hadn't read the book yet. It's a bit hard to find it here, mind you.. So, yeah.. I'm excited. XD

I made three alternative for it, as you can see here in bottom. Above is the chosen design with slight change.

Wedding Bliss

This non-commissioned pic is for one of my close friendwho is getting married.. She asks several of us to make an illustration of her and the groom-to-be in our own preferred style. I kinda enjoy doing this. I tried my best to draw them in my style, though, it's hard. Hahaha..

I think.. I want to illustrating my own wedding invitation someday. It think it'll look good (hope so ^^).

Commission WIP : Fairytale-themed Lingerie

Actually, the works are all done.
However, my commissioner asked me to postponing to submit them to any online media until September. I said no problem, but I asked if I was permit to post the WIP sketch only to my blog, she doesn't seems to mind.

The concept is quite simple. My commissioner has a series of lingerie based on popular fairytales like Red Riding Hood, Snow White and Rapunzel, and she wants me to draw three illustrations based on the said clothing. Semi-real with fairytale atmosphere, and bitchy facial expression :D

So here they are..
Red Riding Hood, Snow White, and Rapunzel.. All in their nasty and bitchy side (rawr).
Sexy, no?

Sketch done with Paint Tool SAI, coloring done with Photoshop CS3. (Finally I was able to use my winning Wacom Intuos as graphic tool, not just a mouse-substitute :P )

Veggie Illustrations Commission

These were commissions I did a couple months back for Healthy Choice, a restaurant located in Kelapa Gading specializing in organic food. They wanted some sketchy-styled illustrations of vegetables and their benefits to be hanged on the restaurant wall. It was my first ever time to make illustration for interior decor purpose, so I'm excited to do it.

It was simple illustrations. However, due the size dimension and my stupid-slower-than-snail macbook, it took lots of efforts to get it done. Just to open the each files took almost 1 hour, saving it cost even more times. My once-beloved-laptop finally stressed me out, really. But I enjoyed it. I think it was worth all the wasting sleep-time effort when I saw the three of them decorating the green-themed restaurant's wall.

Traces of Love

Some doodle I did to boost my mood after work, and to practicing my rusted skill.

Cliche title I know.. but actually the inspiration was coming from my current condition. My eyes got infected by some virus, so it was red and bloating all over, especially my right eye. I must wear sunglasses to hide it and to prevent it spreading to my office mates (and they tease me a lot for it T^T). It's getting better, but it hurts and so ugly I wish I could live-photoshoped my eyes to make it go. T^T

But this pic was inspired by Super Junior's image in Sorry Sorry MV they made in 2009. I was late, I know.. but really.. the song was catchy and brainwashing, awesome video concept, and 13 hot guys in SUIT. Oh God.. I am not irresistible to the temptation.

Well, the style was inspired by the awesome tknk@deviantart. Her gallery will tear your eyes away.. T^T (I'm soooooo jealouuuuss.....).

Spring Child

I haven't updated this blog for sometime, pardon me.. I am getting a full-time job as 2D artist in an animation studio in Jakarta, so it was so rarely that I have a spare time. However, my work-schedule had been put on easy flow now, so I can make something again :)

Here's a piece I made to join Wacom contest, with theme anything anime/manga.

I was running of ideas or inspiration, so I began with something that I like.. hands. FYI, I have some fetish to hands (not that kind of fetish, mind you.. I just like to draw human hands. I think they are so beautiful), so I was thinking to make something that could be hold by hand. So there it is : the spring love-child that you can grab! :P

I'm not sure that I'll win the contest, since I think the color could have been better, but well.. que sera-sera, whatever will be, will be. Wish me luck! ^^

'Kepik Ungu' Logo

Kepik Ungu is newly established book publishing, found by my two friend. Their goal is to publish inspiring books and make theirs name as brand of good read. Kepik Ungu is literaly translated as 'Purple Ladybug' in English. I made the logogram based on that, using letter 'K' and 'U' to form a sketch of a ladybug.

Like the title said, these were my three alternatives for a novel titled "Let Go" which have been rejected. They said these were 'too oldschool'. Oh well, I'll make another three alternatives again..

Kotak Musik Gita

The flip-flop cover :)

Kotak Musik Gita (English translated : Gita's Musical Box) is a mini biography and career achievement of teen singer Gita Gutawa, done in pop style. This is my big project I've done with Gagasmedia team, with author Andanari Yogaswari (who I use to call Mbak Riri).

Side A

This book has a flip-flop concept, to represent the two side of Gita Gutawa. Side A deal with Gita as a regular girl and Side B tell about Gita as a profesional singer. Side A adopting the style used most in popular teenage magz, with journal-look and collage for layout theme. I use more vibrant and cheerful color, and more messy arrangement for photo's and picture's placement. I picked casual typeface, the main text use san-sherif one, and some handwriting scripted-typeface. The illustration done in more sloppy, teenage fashion style.

Side B

Side B has more elegant theme for layout. I got big help from Mbak Nisa, Gagasmedia's creative director for the whole finishing look. It is inspired by the vintage classic fairy tale book, but has modern touch. I picked pastel colors and subtle tones for more girly look, and more tidy arrangement for pics and photos. For typo, I used more classic, everlasting sherif typeface, and picked the ornamental one for accent and decoration. I made a classic fairytale-like illustration for more vintage effect ^^.

This book was launched the day before Ramadhan start, at September 20th at Depok Town Square Mall. I was there also, but only to watch the whole event, and get a photograph with Gita :D (for show off, of course.. khehehe...).

Sasa and Triple Billies

This is my (not so) old lineart, which was about to be forgotten.. But I think this piece is a nice exercise to bring back my mood to create some artwork ^^

I got the inspiration from my (once) a pet, a gold fish I named Billie. He was a very very cute fish, and he loved to play dead in his mini aquarium. But my cutie little Billie was dead now T^T..

.. I miss him.

Sasa is my beloved little cousin, 11 years younger than me, who has a thick, long black very curly hair. She loves anything princess, and recently she got addicted to anime and manga (ok, I was the one to blame) ^__^;. I still love to cuddling and kissing her even now when she is bigger than me now. She's just too cute! X3

I want this pic to give a happy feeling to people who see it..

Because, Sasa and Billie give happiness to me :D

"The Way We Were" cover alternatives

These are the three alternatives design I made for a local novel titled "The Way We Were" by Sefryana Khairil, that will be published by Gagasmedia. This novel belong to domestic drama genre, so it must been done in minimalist layout with soft tone for the color, as any Gagasmedia novel in this genre has ^^.

I only had one night to made this three alternatives.. (with morning as deadline) and the damn inspirations came in last minute. I stuck all night long doing sketches and thumbnails.. and then I only has two hours for the execution. So, they were a bit messy.

I will tell you a bit about the novel story and the chosen cover later, since the novel isn't published yet. :D

By the way, which one of the three alternatives is your favorite? :)

Bittersweet Lollipop

Oh shit.

What a poor boy.....

I just wanted to make a very short comic without any word about memories.

Taste and smell happen to be a strong trigger to raise one's memory of something. Lollipop, the little candy, has both specific taste and smell, so sweet it's impossible to be forgotten, and I used it to illustrate a bittersweet memory about a boy's (failed) first love.

First love, after all, a memory that will forever be in one's heart <3

The scan is so ugly so I decided to give the color a bit retouching. I hope the shimmery effect of the gold and silver color poster couls still be seen...

Candy

Quick digital coloring on an old sketch. Done in Photoshop CS3 for 20 minutes or more.
Candy is the nickname between me and my friend Helga about our secret crush on workplace :P. The pic is not look like him at all, actually.. his face is kinda hard to be drawn. And beside I don't want anybody there catch me ogling him ^.^"
Why candy? Because he is our only eye-candy there.. hehehehe..

Layar Terkembang : Illustrated Novel

This is my Final Project in university life, the one which I made to fulfill the requirement of graduation and earned my academic title.

Layar Terkembang (Broading Sail) is one of Indonesian old classic literature novel, written by Sutan Takdir Alisjahbana in 1936. He was the founder and one of the most known author of Pujangga Baru generation. The novel itself was placed in romance category, and being a must-read book for Indonesia Literature subject trough middle and high schools here. I once thought this book was just all about romance, it surprised me when I found feminism was actually the main theme in here.

The story is about two sisters with very different personality named Tuti and Maria. Tuti was the smart one, highly educated, an activist for the new-found feminism action, and she was a very logical woman. But she was very cynical and rigid. Her little sister, maria, was the opposite. She wasn't that bright, and seems to use her heart more than her brain. But she was beautiful, cheerful, and loveable. One day, the two sisters met a young man named Yusuf, an energetic medical student. As the story went, they would involved in a triangle love, and how Tuti and Maria influencing each other, and how the term feminism could be broaden into the form of ordinary domestic women.

For the artwork, I have a hard time to town down my ordinary manga-esque drawing style and brought it to more realistic yet classic style. I learned again how to make a correct proportion of Indonesian native people, I searched the era's fashion and lifestyle, tried many drawing and coloring media, etc. In the end, I used digital coloring in my pencil sketches to make the whole artworks. Not my best work, but I do enjoyed the process and I learned so much form it <3

Hello friends.. I'm Mira, but you could call me Myr. :)

Just for introduction, this is my personal art-blog. I'll post mostly my artworks, sketch, work-in-progress, illustrations, comis, and design yada-yada that I made, for myself or commissioned by others. I already have one online gallery in , but I still in need for more personal space of my art and design works.
I'll also refer this blog as my online portfolio. (though I'll make a more professional one, and could be downloaded).
